I did not have this blog post planned – but can you ever plan for a worldwide pandemic? I guess not.
Many schools across the country are closing in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19. And even if your school doesn’t close, parents may still choose to keep their students home out of caution.
Because of this, many teachers and resource creators (and education business, too!) around the country have banded together to offer free resources to teachers and parents during this time that can easily be done at home. The following is a master list of MANY of the free resources out there.
If you are a teacher dealing with school closings or an increase in student absences – you may be able to find materials on here to send home with students, or at the very least, tell your parents about.
If you are a parent keeping your kids home but wanting to keep the education going, these resources are low-prep and easy to implement. Most just require a printer and paper – and some are even 100% digital.
Free Resources for Students
For everyone:
- Master list of education companies offering free subscriptions
- Teachers Pay Teachers – many of the resources listed on here are from this website, but there are 1000s of other free resources on this website. Simply type what you’re looking for in the search bar, and then narrow your search by selecting the grade level and choosing “Free” as the price.
- A Parent’s Guide to Google Classroom from Lit With Laura – in case your teachers start using this tool to work from home and you need some help!
- Student-Centered World Mastermind Group – a Facebook group for teachers to share ideas while trying to navigate teaching from home.
- EngageNY (Eureka) Math – a totally FREE math curriculum, complete with lessons, worksheets, and activities. It is the best of the best (in my opinion). Available for grades PreK – 12. (English Language Arts also available, however I have not personally used this).
